Microblading is a fantastic permanent makeup service that can improve the shape, fullness, and appearance of your eyebrows. If you’re interested in having this procedure done, there are some pre and post care tips to take note of.
Before you head to your appointment, be sure you do not consume alcohol 24 hours before the procedure. You will also want to limit your caffeine intake and avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen or Fish Oil. Do not have Botox performed in the week prior to your microblading procedure and do not wax or tint your brows within 48 hours of your appointment. Microblading is not permitted for individuals who have been off Accutane for less than one year and for those who are nursing or pregnant. It’s also important to note that those who are on their menstrual cycle during this procedure will be much more sensitive, so it is recommended you schedule your microblading appointment around those days.
Once your microblading appointment is said and done, there are some post-care tips you will want to follow. These tips will help maintain the results of your procedure, while also helping you stay as comfortable as possible. Because microblading eyebrows is a “dry heal,” you will keep your brows away from water for seven days. Do not rub, pick or scratch the treated area, as this will cause pigment loss. It is recommended that you keep your brows moisturized with aftercare ointment, which should be reapplied regularly when your eyebrows feel dry or taut. While it is recommended that you use aftercare ointments, it is not suggested that you use soaps, facial cleansers or makeup for the week following your microblading procedure. You should also avoid sweating heavily for the following week, as this can cause the hair strokes to blur. Finally, do your best to protect your brow area as much as possible as your procedure heals.
