Microblading is a fantastic way to always have beautifully treated brows without all of the time and effort. This manual form of tattooing utilizes a single-use hand tool to place pigment into the brow area.
This results in a perfect set of eyebrows that last anywhere from one to three years, depending on how well you take care of them. After that, touch ups will be needed over time. Here are a few tips from Flash Brows by Heather James Ink regarding things to do (and not do) after your microblading session:
The Dos of Caring for Microbladed Eyebrows:
Anticipate Mild Swelling:
You may likely feel and/or see slight redness and swelling in the area following microblading. Your brows may also be tender.
Be Sure to Moisturize
Your eyebrows will need moisture to heal properly. Be sure to ask your technician if they have any recommendations.
Make Sure to Keep Them Clean
It is important to clean the brow area after you have microblading done. However, do not douse them with water, particularly in the first few days following the procedure.
The Don’ts of Caring for Microbladed Eyebrows:
Wear Any Makeup
Don’t apply makeup or other creams/lotions as they can lead to a bad reaction or even an infection.
Sweat or Overheat
UV exposure can fade the color of your tattoo, and perspiration can fade the pigment. Avoid this in the first few weeks.
Scratch or Pick
Microblading can cause a slight irritation, but this can be expected and is a normal part of the healing process.
